Some Starting Tips for Allyship

  • Read books, poetry, websites, or blogs by or about LGBTQ+ people

  • Speak Up when you hear someone using offensive language, misgendering someone, or making homophobic “jokes”

  • Challenge your own biases and assumptions

  • Learn what terms mean by looking them up

  • Use your pronouns when introducing yourself, or in your email signature

  • Acknowledge concerns that your LGBTQ+ friends have
