Family Planning Agency of SCNY

In the spirit of April having both STI Awareness Week and Public Health Week, we want to share news about the Family Planning Agency of South Central NY, now open as a part of Family and Children’s Counseling Services! They’re located in the same building as the Center, 165 Main St. in Cortland, and their open hours are 9am - 5pm Mon, Wed, Fri, and 10am - 6pm on Thursdays, while being closed Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The Clinic offers a variety of sexual and reproductive health services, including:

·     Birth control, including emergency contraception

·     STI testing and treatment

·     Pregnancy testing and options counseling

·     Rapid HIV and Hepatitis C testing

·     PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, a medication that is highly effective at preventing HIV.

·     The HPV Vaccine

·     Cancer screenings

Medicaid is accepted, but insurance isn’t required, and they offer low-cost services on a sliding scale. Walk-ins are welcome, but you can also call 607-250-9004 to make an appointment.

It’s important to know that the CDC recommends routine STI testing if you’re sexually active - at least every 3 months. In New York, you also don’t need a parent or guardian’s permission to receive reproductive and sexual health services if you’re under 18.
