Healthy Vision

With an estimated 75% of Americans wearing some form of vision correction, it can be easy to overlook the importance of taking care of our eyes. While for many people, visual impairment is genetic or brought on by aging, there are certain measures we can take to preserve our vision and decrease the risk of eye diseases. This includes:

·     Staying active with regular exercise.

·     Eating foods such as leafy greens and fish high in omega-3 fatty acids.

·     Abstaining from smoking tobacco, which can lead to cataracts and blurred vision.

·     Protecting your eyes with sunglasses and safety goggles when appropriate.

·     Limiting screen time, which can strain your eyes.

·     Getting regular eye check-ups and wearing glasses or contacts as prescribed.
